Want to check out one of the cool, new things we’re working on? Well now is your chance….. Here’s a glimpse of the latest trailer for “Project Arbiter.” (more…)

I love showing off our capabilities check out some of the latest 3d art from our own Sloan Hood. Every time he creates something new I’m just blown away by his ability. Here are a few of his latest fun projects.

Here are a few shots of the new Legacy style ODST helmet Model in progress.  After seeing the “We are ODST” trailer I just had to have one of those sweet sets of armor.  So I started cranking away in solidworks to generate this model.  Later it will be used to CNC mill out a full sized buck of the helmet to be mastered and molded.  I think this will be a fun project to work on.

If you haven’t seen the latest trailer promoting the new ODST game from Bungie here is your chance to get caught up on the latest master piece from Rupert Sanders. The props produced by Legacy Effects (formally Stan Winston Studios) are particularly amazing alongside the CG Effects from Asylum. My hats off to the artists that created this piece of work, this video is truly amazing and inspiring to watch.

We had a great time up at MLG Dallas this year. We showed up to support our PMS Clan Girls and hang out and play some new Halo ODST with the guys from Bungie. We gave some of the Halo fans an opportunity to get their picture taken with the real life Halo helmets. We had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year. Thanks to all that came out and showed there support and played some games with us.

Ok to give you a little look into the construction of the master chief under armor I posted up a few pics. I used some upholstery vinyl from Jo-Ann’s fabric store. I also used some of the craft foam from hobby lobby to make all the padded pieces for the abdomen area and knees. The little rubber piece on the front of the piece is molded dragon skin dyed black with silc pig. The back piece of rubber is actually a Betty Boop car floor mat from Wal-Mart. I love me some Wally World.. always find good stuff to use in there. For the shoulders I used the piping you get at the fabric store to create that ridge effect. As far as the ribbing effect that’s just a ton of time put in on the sewing machine sewing down layers to form ribs. The soft part of the boot is done just like the shoulder with the piping I found at the fabric store. I just cut out my pattern and sewed the piping down in place to give it that ridged effect. Other than that its a bunch of nylon straps and buckles and its made in sections to keep from making it too hot. I also use a few pieces on the chest armor to fill in some open areas just held on with Velcro. Don’t have pics of those, but you can just use the shots of the armor to see what I’m talking about.

Anyways hope this helps you do–it-your-selfer’s

Speechless. Astonished. Ecstatic. Blue Realm Studios is a premier fabrication and creative powerhouse.

As the Director of Project Arbiter (tentative title), my challenge was to seek out a top-notch fabrication studio that could deliver a detail yet practical hero suit for my lead character – all within a specific budget and timeframe. The result – weeks of searching and no luck. Either too expensive or way too expensive. That’s Hollywood. Then I saw this jaw-dropping Master Chief suit in the heart of Dallas, Texas. Amazing.

I picked up the phone and typed away on my keyboard. After a casual kick-off meeting, I knew that Devin and Adam were the team to bring my vision to life. Throughout the creative process, they were constantly looking for ways to make the suit more functional, practical, and durable.

What is truly wonderful is that I know I can rely on Blue Realm for my future film fabrication needs, no matter the complexity or the genre – they have the expertise and more importantly, they have ingenuity and innovation in their veins.

I encourage you to consider Blue Realm Studios for your next project.
